School closings for inclement weather will be announced several different ways this year:

• The Viola School District is now using Apptegy school smartphone app (Viola School District #15) and webpage (violalonghorns.org) to push messages school closing messages to parents. To update numbers or other contact information, call the elementary or high school office. (Staff should call the administrative office.)

• Apptegy also allows us to send messages to the schools Facebook page (VSD#15)

• If internet access is available, this page will be updated to reflect that school has been canceled. (https://www.violalonghorns.org/page/closing-information)

• Traditional television and radio stations will also be notified. Below is a list of some stations that we try to notify. Because of the convenience of the Apptegy service, this list is short.
