Viola Elementary will be celebrating our 100th day of school on Thursday March 3rd. We encourage our students to display school spirit and dress as if they are “100 years old” on Thursday to celebrate.
Along with celebrating our 100th day of school this month, I have challenged our students to accumulate 2,000 Accelerated Reader points for the month of March. The 2,000 point goal is for grades K-6, and if the goal is met, we will have a reward day at a later date. Attached is a link to access the Accelerated Reader test portal from home. If you would like additional information on how your child can take Accelerated Reader tests at home please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

Just a reminder… the Junior class will be taking the ACT on Tuesday. Juniors need to be at school by 7:45.
Viola High School juniors will be taking the ACT® Test on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. This test is being given to all juniors at no cost. It is VERY IMPORTANT that ALL juniors be at school NO LATER than 7:45 AM in order to get the test started on time. It is expected that the test will last until noon at the earliest. Peewee games scheduled for Saturday 2/26 at Salem have been postponed until Tuesday. Games will start at 5:00.
Viola High School will be open today till 12:00 for the missed the pantry program and backpack pickup for this week.
Viola School will be closed on Friday. This day of school will be made up on a date that will be announced later.
Regional Tournament games have been postponed again. They will not be played tonight.

The Regional Basketball Tournament at Hillcrest has been postponed for at least 1 day. Our Sr girls are now scheduled to play Thursday at 7pm, weather permitting.
Due to another Winter Weather Warning in effect for tomorrow, Viola School will be closed and students will need to complete AMI packet #9.
Wednesday's Sr Girls Regional game at Hillcrest has NOT been canceled YET. We anticipate a decision by AAA by noon tomorrow.
Due to the on-going Covid pandemic, the Viola School District will not be allowing outside vendor deliveries for Valentines. Thank you for your cooperation.
We will finally get back to school at Viola tomorrow. Although we will not be running snow routes, drivers will use their discretion in areas with hills that may still be snow packed. If you have a concern about a road in your area, please contact your bus driver. Some students may have to meet their bus at a different stop than normal on Wednesday morning.
Viola School will be closed on Tuesday, February 8th. This day of instruction will be made up on Good Friday.
School will dismiss early, 2:30 pm, on Wednesday and Thursday due to the rescheduling of Jr District Tournament games at Viola those days.
There will not be games at Viola tonight or tomorrow. The beginning of the Jr High Tournament at Viola has been pushed back to Monday evening. Other remaining conference games will be rescheduled as soon as possible.
Based on updated guidance from the Arkansas Department of Education, Viola School will no longer quarantine students or staff who are considered close contacts to an individual who has tested positive for Covid, unless they are symptomatic.
Those who have tested positive will continue quarantine as they have in the past.
Viola School will be closed again on Friday. (Day 8 of AMI assignments.)
