Dear Guardian,
Viola Public School is now offering the School Pantry Program. This program is provided free of charge to our school students through a partnership between Viola School District and the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.
Families that have students currently signed up for free or reduced meals will be able to sign up for the School Pantry Program. Bags will be packed with food items based on the number of people within the household. The school pantry will be located within the High School building and families will pick up food boxes on a monthly to bimonthly basis. Families can pick up their pantry items between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on pick up dates. Pickup dates will be announced at a later date. Bags may contain perishable items, like frozen meat, from time to time.
The program is planned to start in August and will continue throughout the 2021-2022 school year. Participation in the School Pantry Program will not affect your family’s eligibility for other food assistance programs such as SNAP or WIC. The School Pantry Program is separate from the School Backpack Program. The School Backpack Program is available to all food insecure students whether or not they are signed up for free or reduced price meals.
