The Fourth Annual Mechanically Challenged Balloon Warfare Robotics Camp has officially launched — and it's our biggest, boldest year yet! With more than double the number of students from past camps, the energy is electric and the robots are rolling. Our dedicated mentors are stepping up in a big way, guiding an incredible crew of curious, creative, and tech-savvy kids through an unforgettable week of robotic mayhem.
🚀 Day One: Ready, Set, Build!
Campers kicked things off by assembling their mighty mBots, diving into the world of coding, and learning how to make their robots move with precision. From circling tables to tackling a tricky textbook maze, students teamed up one-on-one or in pairs with Mechanically Challenged mentors to conquer the basics. The excitement was contagious as bots began zipping, turning, and reacting to commands written by the coders themselves.
🧠 Day Two: Sensors, Songs & Smarter Bots
By Day Two, 14 students had already mastered the first maze — and were hungry for more! They explored advanced mBot features like proximity sensors that help bots “see,” colorful LEDs, and even tiny speakers that make their bots “sing.” With this new tech, campers faced a more complex maze, learning to navigate alternate routes and dodge obstacles using their upgraded bots — all in preparation for the main event.
🎯 Balloon Warfare Begins!
The arena was revealed. The mBots were wiped clean of old code. And the real fun began. Students were introduced to the legendary Balloon Warfare challenge, where bots battle to pop opponents’ balloons while protecting their own. Custom-designed parts — engineered by our talented Mechanically Challenged design team and 3D printed for the event — were handed out. Campers picked their favorite colored bots, claimed their gear, and strategized for war.
🛠️ What’s Next: Armor, Weaponry & Training
Tomorrow, campers go full gladiator mode. With skewers, tacks, tape, and paper in hand, they’ll armor up and weaponize their bots, fine-tune their code, and spend the day training for battle. Bots must navigate the arena, cooperate with a teammate, dodge enemy attacks, and — most importantly — pop those balloons!

On Thursday, it’s qualification chaos: every camper gets the chance to compete with and against each other in action-packed matches. And Friday? It all comes down to the Double Elimination Tournament, where alliances form and only one team will rise as the ultimate Balloon Warfare Champions!
