Get Ready for Balloon Warfare Robotics Camp!
Prepare for an exciting adventure filled with robots, balloons, and plenty of mayhem! The Annual Mechanically Challenged Balloon Warfare Robotics Camp is back this year, and you won't want to miss it!
This free event is open to all elementary students in grades 3 through 6. Join us in the Viola High School Science Lab from June 9th to 13th. Registration will take place on Monday from 8:30 to 9:00 AM and will include a simple Image Release Form and Emergency Contact Form.
During the camp, elementary students will partner with a Mechanically Challenged veteran to build and code an mBot. The first two days will focus on understanding how to use the code and sensors effectively. Then, on Wednesday, we'll prepare for the ultimate challenge! Balloons will be attached to the tops of the robots, and the field will be filled with balloons and obstacles for a day full of practice matches!
This year, students will compete in teams of two robots in a coopertition format to autonomously pop their opponents balloons. Thursday will feature head-to-head matches to establish rankings for Friday. The grand finale will be a two-student, two-mentor double elimination bracket with exciting prizes!
Don't miss out on the action! Everything on Thursday and Friday will be live-streamed on the Mechanically Challenged YouTube Channel, complete with color commentary from students and coaches, along with interviews throughout the event.
Thanks to our amazing sponsors, we can offer this event at no cost and provide snacks each day. This is our fourth year hosting this camp, and we’ve never received a complaint! We have plenty of room for students, so there's no need to worry about securing a spot.
Join us for a week of fun, coopertition, and robotics! We can't wait to see everyone on Monday!
