Viola School District #15

Completing its search for a new Superintendent, the Viola School District Board of
Directors is pleased to announce that Kyle McCarn has been selected as the district's
next Superintendent effective on July 1, 2024. Current Superintendent John May will be
completing his term on June 30, 2024.
We were very excited to have an excellent field of candidates for the Superintendent
position. We narrowed the applicants down based off a scoring rubric and interviewed
the four finalists. We liked all four finalists, but Kyle McCarn emerged as the right fit for
our district.
McCarn has been in school administration in the Mountain Home School District since
2013 and in education since 2004. He has served the Mountain Home District as Junior
High Principal, High School Assistant Principal, Teacher, and Coach. His experience
prior to serving the Mountain Home School District beginning in 2007 includes 3 years
as a teacher and coach at the Mountain View School District and Clinton School District.
McCarn has a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State
University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas at Monticello, and
Specialist in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University.

tradition. Viola schools have a long history of being one of the best in the state. I plan to
come in and build on the work that has been done before me. People like Mr. May and Mr.
Newton have done a great job of getting the school where it is today. Viola is a great
community that offers tremendous support for the school. It is with great excitement that I
come to join the wonderful community and school. Together, we will take every opportunity
to tell people our story. We will collectively paint the picture that is Viola!"
